More horror is coming to the small screen and news has been coming fast and furious and the latest face to head down ABC's "The River" is no stranger to spooky things happening out in the wild.

According to Deadline Joe Anderson (The Ruins, The Crazies, Across the Universe, and The Grey) has landed the lead in ABC's drama pilot "The River" directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.

The horror thriller, from DreamWorks TV, ABC Studios and Paranormal Activity mastermind Oren Peli, centers on Lincoln Cole (Anderson) who, after his famous TV explorer father goes missing way up the Amazon, reluctantly abandons his medical studies and follows in his father's footsteps - accompanied by a small camera crew, and with Something Deadly in the water, waiting for him.

Anderson joins "Lone Star"'s Eloise Mumford.

This man really likes his horror! I'm definitely watching this ♥

Liam Neeson goes Grey The actor reunites with his A-Team director, Joe Carnahan, for a 2012 project that promises fewer explosions but more scares. The Grey, produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, is a survival film about oilmen (from right, Neeson, Nonso Anozie, Joe Anderson, Dermot Mulroney, Dallas Roberts, and Frank Grillo) stranded in Alaska and being hunted by wolves. "I'm a big dog guy," says Carnahan. "I know that if you look at a wolf for too long, it's just a [cuddly] malamute. So we're doing the Jaws approach. They're like the slasher in a slasher movie." -Keith Staskiewicz
